Caravan Holidays: A Survival Guide

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

It is much more common for people to be taking a caravan holiday these days. This is a fantastic way to get a break from every day life. However if you have never been on a caravan holiday before then you may be asking how will I survive this type of holiday’? The purpose of this article is to give you some idea

  • One of the things that people will worry about is how they will stay clean in a caravan. It is possible to install a shower but this can be quite an expensive luxury. A lot of people will instead make use of the shower rooms on the caravan site. Alternatively you could not for a more natural way and use the sea or a river to wash yourself. Getting a couple of buckets of water is another way that some people will wash themselves when caravanning.

  • Another problem that people have is clean clothes and laundry; most caravans will not have a washing machine and tumble dryer. I like to fill up two buckets with water for my laundry; I put detergent in one for washing and leave the other one clear for rinsing. However, if this sounds like hard work, then you can probably use the laundry room in the caravan park if there is one.

  • Cooking is another issue that people have. I don’t like the way the smell of cooking lingers so I tend to avoid cooking inside the caravan. Taking a portable gas cooker with you is advisable because that way you can cook your food outside. It is also possible to buy a portable electric cooker but you need to realise that if you do this, it will probably eat your caravan’s electricity. You could also consider lighting a campfire and cooking on this if you want to be really adventurous.

One can find that nowadays in relation to summer holiday getaways, many people choose to stay in the united kingdom. A good deal of them are staying in camping or caravan parks. It goes without saying then that today carvans for sale have become popular when it comes to these people.
